Jobsite, one of the UK’s leading online recruiters, has launched on the social networking site Facebook with ‘Job Match’ a new job search application that instantly matches jobseekers to the right role.
Social networking is growing at a phenomenal rate in the UK and Facebook is now the most talked about social networking site. With 30 million active users, and more than 150,000 new users signing up daily, it’s growing three times as fast as rival sites. Jobsite’s presence on Facebook allows job seekers to search all vacancies from across the Jobsite Group including Jobsite.co.uk, CityJobs.com, and LondonJobs.co.uk, giving the widest possible choice of current job vacancies. With access to over 2500 graduate jobs, the new service is likely to appeal to the strong student and graduate following on Facebook now looking for a job following recent exam results.
The technology behind ‘Job Match’ picks out career and location information from a potential job seeker’s Facebook profile page and auto-inserts it into the job search, instantly bringing up potential positions that match the users job title and location, as well as allowing job seekers to edit their search profile.
As part of its Facebook profile Jobsite has also created a ’Group’. Entitled ‘Find Me a Job!’, the group is an open chat room that allows people to discuss job hunting, get hints and tips and share their experiences, as well as providing Jobsite with a great environment to get feedback from candidates and invite them to trial and test new products, service and campaigns.
Keith Potts, Jobsite CEO, comments: “With the arrival of Web 2.0, businesses have the opportunity to not only have a much more personal conversation with their consumers, but also properly harness peer group recommendation. Facebook allows us to reach a new group of both active and passive candidates who can now research job opportunities in a more informal environment as well as tap into groups of like minded individuals for advice, tips and gossip on careers and the job seeking process. We believe that the Job Match application has the potential to open Jobsite up to a completely new audience as well as give FaceBook users access to thousands of potential job opportunities. We’re very excited to be a part of this growing movement.”
