Vebnet hires blue-chip HR Director to support strong growth

13/06/2007 09:52:00

Rachel Ferguson, previously a senior HR professional at Prudential, has become HR Director of Vebnet, the market-leading provider of technology solutions and services for flexible benefits. The role is a first at the company, and reflects a desire by Vebnet to invest in HR and further develop individual employees to support the ongoing growth of the business. Ferguson will directly manage the HR function and work with employees to enhance and channel their core skills and energy to deliver business results and excellent customer service.

Ferguson and Vebnet are a good fit. She spent over 7 years at Prudential, both in HR and working on the company’s external flexible benefits offering, so she understands the demands of a people-focused business in the flex market. She has worked as both an HR generalist and specialist, focusing on reward and employment law.

She explains, “Our people are vital to our continued success, so we want to develop each individual and strengthen internal structures to allow everyone to achieve their own personal goals, and align these with business objectives. The challenge is to retain Vebnet’s small company ethos – a hands-on and fun place to work, where individuals are challenged and can make a difference – while providing a consistent framework to support continued growth. Vebnet offered me a role I thought was impossible to find: I can combine my HR and flex knowledge, and make a significant difference to employees personal and professional development, which will in turn, lead to an enhanced level of service for our customers”.

Stephen Thurlow, CFO of Vebnet, adds, “It’s great to offer this high profile role to a specialist who fits our business so well. We need to capitalise on our strengths and put building blocks in place for the next stage of growth. This is a heavy-hitting role where Rachel can directly impact business operations. We are investing in our people to equip them to deliver strong and sustainable growth, in ways that make a real difference to our customers”.
