Highly respected technology news site, The Inquirer has entered the online IT recruitment scene by launching a dedicated Jobs service www.inqjobs.co.uk.
Tailored for its tech savvy audience of nearly 3m IT professionals, the Inquirer Job site will offer access to an extremely high concentration of skilled and experienced IT experts.
Recruiters will find this a unique opportunity to target a valuable online community who are loyal fans of this quirky and irreverent brand – on average 50% of site visitors are repeat users which is exceptionally high*. Providing a job service to a group with so much experience and brand loyalty is an exciting initiative which has the potential to attract thousands of new job seekers to VNU’s job sites.
The site has been built to reflect the Inquirer’s editorial voice and maintain its irreverent tone. To this end, the site is broken into four main areas: “Beer Money, a place to showcase contractor jobs;” “Jobs worth getting out of bed for, a place to present the latest permanent direct jobs;” “Get Headhunted, an upload tool for CVs” and “Ping me a job, a job alert service”
Paul Briggs, Publisher of the Inquirer said: “The launch of Inquirer jobs is the first fruit of a number of initiatives VNU has planned for the Inquirer community. Over the next few months we will continue to add valuable services and harness the strong Inquirer community – expect to see peer to peer initiatives and reader generated content alongside job postings very soon.”
Because the Inquirer audience has a huge amount of knowledge and experience, founder and editor in chief of the Inquirer, Mike Magee said the site will be useful for recruiters because: “The addition of a job board will give lots of our readers the chance to spread their wings."
For recruiters the addition of the Inquirer to VNU’s online IT network creates a combined reach of nearly five million IT professionals every month. This creates a compelling opportunity for companies looking to attract the best talent to their firms as they can reach both active and passive job seekers through advertising and listing products within both job and content sites.
As part of VNU Business Publications, recruiters will benefit from inclusion in the widespread VNU online recruitment network and all vacancies will initially be made available through its successful sister site ComputingCareers.co.uk.
