JobsInLogistics.com Notes Optimism for Increased Hiring in the Supply Chain Professions in 2010

Nationís largest job board for the logistics and manufacturing industries forecasts revival based on client activities

After major layoffs and hiring freezes during 2009, there is growing optimism for renewed hiring for 2010 among the logistics and manufacturing sectors.

As the largest career board for the supply chain, distribution, warehousing, transportation and manufacturing professions, JobsInLogistics.com has become the early barometer of the hiring mood for these industries, according to president Don Firth.

“Many of our clients are expressing confidence in the economy and planning increased hiring for 2010,” said Firth. “This last two months, contracts for job postings and resume search services with JobsInLogistics.com have increased by more than 45% over the same period of 2008. Earlier this year many clients were purchasing small job posting packages to fill essential positions only. These same companies are now contracting for 10, 20 and even unlimited job posting packages with JobsInLogistics.com for 2010.”

Spurred by better-than-expected seasonal sales, the retail industry increased their job posting packages by more than 60% in December on AllRetailJobs.com, the sister job board of JobsInLogistics.com. This increased confidence by the retail industry has a domino effect on the whole supply chain, including manufacturers, importers, distributors, 3PL and transportation companies.
