80% truthful when it comes to their CV/Resume

In a recent survey asking over 1000 responders, TipTopJob found that 80% had never told a white lie on their CV or Resume

In a recent survey asking over 1000 responders, TipTopJob found that 80% had never told a white lie on their CV or Resume.

This follows a recent story about students being threatened with jail for embellishing their CVs. According to CIFAS, the UK fraud prevention service, 324 people were actually prosecuted in 2013 for fraudulent applications.

The recent survey conducted unfortunately exposes 20% who are still admitting to lying. This may relate to a “white” lie, for example, better A level grades or improved job titles or indeed something else more sinister like creating a whole new job role.

Mike Dauncey comments, “We would never condone any kind of lying or exaggeration of the truth and we especially recommend avoiding any submission of false paperwork which could lead to a more serious fraudulent case. It is certainly not worth the risk or embarrassment that something like this could cause. It is important to be offered a job based on your true experience and expertise, not false hear say.”
