This is according to a study conducted by 1PGR a London based recruitment company. Contrary to popular belief, graduates often already have a clear idea of the type of work that they would like to do once they leave education. This is again reflected in the results of 1PGR’s study where 92% of graduates surveyed had at least two companies that they would like to work for.

These findings as well as tips for being successful in your job hunt are discussed in 1PGR’s new series of blogs for graduates looking for their first or next career move.

The above statistic was taken from their first article which takes a look at being a proactive job-hunting graduate with a follow-up article discussing how to construct persuasive job application emails. The final instalment in the series focuses on being successful in business pitches once you have clinched your first sales job.

Jessica Brader, Graduate Manager from 1PGR said of these new resources and their research:

“Many people seem to think that graduates go blindly into university with no clear idea about what they want to do afterwards. We found that graduates do actually have a clear idea of what they would like to do post university, this leads them to choose highly relevant degree subjects which really helps them with their job hunt through us. We find those students with a clear direction are the ones who are most successful in securing their dream job and ultimately in work life.”
