In response to this , totaljobs’ group sales director John Salt commented:

“Is it perhaps not surprising that here has been a fall in jobseekers since the announcement of Brexit with both businesses and workers still adjusting to the political and economic change. However this could be viewed as a transition period where uncertainly is causing a conservative approach to both hiring policies and to candidates’ approaches to their job searches. Change may be just around the corner, however, as our Totaljobs Employment Index in April 2017 revealed that there has been a 26% increase in applications in the last three months compared with the same period in the previous year, and that the number of applications for each job has risen by 22% - a sign of an increasingly healthy job market.”
