Venturi employees offer free career advice for local students

Venturi Ltd has opened their doors to host a week-long, free drop-in for local GSCE students.

The recruitment agency, based in Wilmslow, will be on-hand to offer advice to young people who wish to know more about careers in recruitment, business or administration.

Almost 70,000 students will receive their results today and will be wondering what the next step towards their future is.

For a week, the directors, managers and other staff will be on hand to give advice on the many roles and careers paths that young people can take straight from GCSE level, including apprenticeships and internal company schemes.

All students are welcome from GCSE, A-Level and upwards. Even those with no formal qualifications are encouraged to pop in for a chat.

Contract Director James Doyle said “GCSE results have a massive impact on the lives of many young people. Many of them who don’t do so well believe that this is the end of the road for them.”

“Our aim is to dispel this myth and to give young people a realistic overview of career paths that are available and that don’t require straight As and Bs.”

“Many companies now realise that there could be hidden talent and potential in young people who didn’t necessarily make the grades.”

“Whilst education is important, it isn’t always everything and shouldn’t determine a person’s suitability for certain roles. Hiring managers now look for other qualities, such as work ethic, ambition and reliability.”

The week-long session runs from Friday 22nd August until Thursday 28th and is open from 10am until 5pm.
