HR technology exhibition and conference, UNLEASH, has announced the cancellation of 2 of their upcoming events due to health concerns over the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, placing them in a force majeure situation. The cancelled events include UNLEASH Spring, scheduled for March 24-25, 2020 at the London ExCel, and UNLEASH America, scheduled for May 12-13, 2020 at the MGM Grand Las Vegas.
The decision to cancel these events came after a series of social distancing and delay measures announced by both the US and UK authorities over the past week - including the CDC and UK government advice to cancel large gatherings, the statewide closure of non-essential business in Nevada, and a myriad of national and corporate travel bans in place affecting participants.
Founder and CEO Marc Coleman said: “We have looked into all possible options with our partners and health authorities, but the decision is clear cut for the safety of all involved, and the civic duty we have to follow guidance for social distancing in the fight against the spread of this virus.”
