UK recruitment industry will continue to grow despite impending Brexit, says Linas at Bullhorn Live 2016

Bullhorn’s international managing director Peter Linas revealed the bullish outlook of the company’s customers at the recent Bullhorn Live 2016 which took place at Bishopsgate, London. Now in its fourth year, the event drew a record attendance of over 700 guests, making it Europe’s largest one-day recruitment conference.

In the opening keynote, Linas spoke positively on the future of the UK recruitment industry in the aftermath of Brexit, assuring agencies that they can continue to grow despite economic uncertainty. Sharing some of the key findings from Bullhorn’s recent recruitment trends study, he showed that many agencies expect to increase their revenue over the next two years, and consider dealing with specialised skilled shortages to be the biggest opportunity for growth.

Bullhorn CEO Art Papas joined Linas in delivering the opening keynote, detailing his vision for the company in 2017 and stressing the importance of creating a seamless experience cycle for customers. His message to the sold-out audience was clear: “…you are only as good as your worst customer interaction”.

Another highlight of the event was a Q&A session which focused on the challenges facing the recruitment industry in the current economic climate, as well as the influence of artificial intelligence and robotics on the way recruiters work. As part of the session, Staffing Industry Analysts President Barry Asin discussed how the ‘human cloud’ is changing the way we organise our workforces.

This year’s official Bullhorn Live party had a Star Wars-theme complete with life-size R2-D2 and C-3PO cakes, themed cocktails, and special “guests” from the film series, continuing the futuristic precedent set by last year’s Back to the Future extravaganza.

Linas commented: “Our goal with every Bullhorn Live is to make sure our customers come away with a positive state of mind for the coming year. As Yoda famously said, ‘Do or do not. There is no try.’ It’s time for all customer-focused professionals to take action to improve their business relationships and profitability. We’re already putting plans in place for an even bigger Bullhorn Live next year.”

Bullhorn Live is the only annual conference aimed specifically at helping recruitment professionals build new business and improve existing customer relationships.
