Traffic to jobsites up in Singapore - 10/2001

.

New research from NetValue has found that traffic to recruitment sites in Singapore is increasing, presumably as a result of the economic downturn in the region.

The number of visitors to jobsites topped 120,000 during Q2, up 12,000 on Q1 figures. Furthermore, the average length of time spent on these sites by visitors has almost doubled since the first quarter.

Over 52 percent of online jobseekers in Singapore in Q2 were women, while 54.7 percent were either professionals, managers, or executives. Three in ten were students.

The most popular recruitment sites for jobseekers in Singapore were jobsdb.com, jobstreet.com, and AsiaOne Careers.

NetValue says people now recognize that using the Internet to look for a job is convenient, faster, and cheaper than conventional routes.
