totaljobs.com selects Civista's software technology - 03/2001

SMS service

Jobseekers across the UK will soon be able to learn about the latest top jobs within seconds via their mobile phones, following the partnership between totaljobs.com and wireless technology company Civista.

totaljobs.com is set to implement Civista's Anywhere Solution, software which delivers content, data and application from any source to any wireless device or channel, in a move to further enhance user experience with the online recruitment service. Upon receiving the SMS message, users will be able to request further job information or register interest in response to the SMS job alert.

Shaun Collins, head of marketing, totaljobs.com commented: Our partnership with Civista reflects our drive to provide the most comprehensive service in the recruitment field to both job seekers and providers. As a far greater percentage of the population has access to mobile phones than the Internet, SMS job alert service allows totaljobs.com to extend the reach of our complete recruitment package, reinforcing our mandate to provide the most value to our clients.

Adolfo Hernandez, Civista's CEO said, The SMS alert service will continually work to keep users ahead of the game, as they are kept informed of new vacancies immediately and conveniently without the need to log on to their PC. With this service potential candidates can be contacted immediately wherever they are.

Civista's SMS technology recognises the type of device enabled by the user and delivers the alert in a format that is appropriate to that device, working in tandem with totaljobs.com's recruit ment service to extract information about employment opportunities and job seekers from totaljobs.com's databases.
