Totaljobs.com gives access to South Africa

New deal gives recruiters access to South African jobseekers

Recruiters can now search for South African jobseekers looking for work in the UK, thanks to a new strategic sales and marketing partnership announced today between totaljobs.com and South Africa''s number one online placement solution, CareerJunction.

The deal means that recruiters, especially in those sectors that rely heavily on contractors such as in the IT and health industry, will now have access to a large database of ''springbok'' candidates.

Rob Perkins, CEO of totaljobs.com, comments: An increasing number of South Africans come to the UK on working holidays and many more come on other types of visas. Common language and education systems make it very easy to utilise their skills in the UK. With the cash boost just promised to the NHS and education sectors by Gordon Brown, and the number of vacancies this will create, we see this deal as a huge helping hand for recruiters.

The agreement is part of totaljobs.com''s on-going strategy to partner with market leading job sites across the world, and follows a similar alliance with seek.com.au, the top Australian job board.

Continues Perkins: We chose to partner with CareerJunction as it has an established brand and dominant position in the South African market. Feedback from our customers informed us they want to search for jobseekers from South Africa, especially for sales, marketing and finance positions. They will now be able to do this by posting jobs on CareerJunction, which attracts around 150,000 unique users a month, making it easier for them to find committed and qualified staff.

Kris Jarzebowski, Managing Director of CareerJunction says: CareerJunction is the number one online recruitment solution in South Africa and having strong international links is part of our overall globalisation strategy. There are many South Africans living and earning pounds in the UK and many travel to the UK to take up contractual type employment for periods averaging on 2 years, returning to South Africa with valuable pounds that are so much stronger than the Rand.

The types of jobs they are looking for include IT, finance, teaching, nursing, accountancy, engineering, manufacturing and legal. Global movement of people is a world trend that will definitely continue into the future, which is why we are keen to build alliances such as this one with totaljobs.com.
