The Internet is here to stay - keep the faith!

Positive view from Jobsin

The dotcom boom of 2000 may be long gone but the Internet companies that have survived the turbulence of the last two years are well placed to deliver healthy investment returns, says Gary Beresford, CEO of Jobsin.co.uk plc, an Internet based recruitment software company based in Royal Leamington Spa.

Mr Beresford was announcing Jobsinís latest acquisition and first overseas venture. Jobsin has acquired a controlling interest in Irish based Accountantsjobs.com for an undisclosed sum. The business will, in future, operate under a new trading name Jobs in Ireland.ie.

Stephen McLarnon, managing director of the new business stated: I am very optimistic about the future of Jobs in Ireland.ie and indeed the prospects for the online recruitment industry in general. The deal between Jobsin.co.uk and Accountantsjobs.com is based on good old economy synergistic values. The former provides the award winning technology, massive distribution network and financial backing, and the latter, the local sales knowledge.

Mr Beresford continued: The Internet companies that have survived the last two years are generally those which have developed sound business models and have applications which harness the undisputed strengths of the Internet, speed, accessibility, cost and control.

Internet recruitment advertising is an increasingly important element of any businesses balanced recruitment budget, complementing and not replacing traditional means of recruiting candidates. A recent Forrester report suggests that Internet recruitment advertising will rise from 3% of total recruitment advertising spend in 2001 to over 20% in 2003.

Mr Beresford continues: The recruitment industry is one sector where the Internet has proven successful. Others include, banking, financial services and travel and leisure. The dotcom hype may have disappeared, but some sound web based business opportunities still exist, and I believe are set to thrive.
