The rapid progress in artificial general intelligence is expected to reach the human level in 2040. At this point, certain activities and interactions with a computer will be indistinguishable from those with a human and as a consequence huge numbers of jobs will be automated - for example any telephone-based staff, data-based decision making such as risk analytics, legal analysis, underwriting, insurance, valuation etc. Even human receptionists and journalists would dwindle. This talk explores the current trends and the likely impact over the next 10 years.
