Support for community leads to award win for 24-7 Staffing

Wiltshire-based recruiter 24-7 Staffing has had its commitment to the community recognised by scooping a top county business award. The Chippenham-based company won the Services to the Community award at the recent Wiltshire Business Awards.

This is the second win this year for the team, who also won the Chippenham Business Customer Services award.

Managing director Julian Thompson said he was thrilled with the win, as the company strives to support the community through a host of activities, ranging from platinum membership of Business Against Poverty to every year sponsoring job seekers training in a new career.

“Our support is wide-ranging and varied; some is one-off activity, and other support is ongoing. Some involves financial commitment and for other help we roll up our sleeves and lend expertise and our time. We all take part – directors, staff and candidates. And where we can, we even rope in our clients!” he said.

“We’ve taken part in fundraising events like the Snowdon challenge raising funds for Wiltshire Air Ambulance, we’ve collected Easter eggs for a local charity the Rise Trust and a team of us even walked over the Alps for the Hannibal Challenge!

“Individually, and as a team, we get a huge amount out of the support we give. There’s a saying of givers’ gain and we put lot of store by this. Helping the community and charities also gives us an opportunity for team-building – such as our participation in the dragon boat races – which promotes good working and team relationships.”

Julian says the team are especially proud of the work they do for Business Against Poverty, helping to support people living in poverty.
