Giles Clarke steps down

The Board of Directors of StepStone ASA announced recently that Giles Clarke, StepStoneís CEO since September 1999, has resigned from the company, effective immediately. Under Gilesí leadership, StepStone has very quickly grown from a small base to become a leading European recruitment company represented in 18 countries, with a well-respected brand. The Company wishes to thank Giles for his contributions.

Karen Slatford, recently appointed non-executive director of the company, will take over as interim CEO until the search for a replacement has been successfully concluded. Karen was previously Vice President and General Manager for Worldwide Sales, Business Customer Organisation, Hewlett Packard.

The Board reaffirmed their commitment to the company, commenting: ìWe continue to believe strongly in the future of this business, and the value proposition compared with more traditional recruitment methods. Although the company has suffered from some delays in the rollout of new technologies in the past, we are confident this market has tremendous potential, and will be very closely involved in ensuring strong execution of our strategy in the coming months.î
