Spencer Ogden receives Queen’s Award for Enterprise

Spencer Ogden, the international energy recruitment firm, has received the official Queen’s scroll for the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade

Spencer Ogden, the international energy recruitment firm, has received the official Queen’s scroll for the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.

The Grant of Appointment and engraved crystal bowl was presented to David Spencer-Percival, CEO of Spencer Ogden, by Sir Ian Johnston, Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London, and former Chief Constable of the British Transport Police, at the firm’s London office.

This year’s Queens Awards for Enterprise recognised 110 businesses which have achieved significant international commercial growth, relative to their size and sector.

David Spencer-Percival, CEO, said: “This is a fantastic day for the company and we are all incredibly proud to be formally presented with the award. Going to Buckingham Palace to receive the accolade from Her Majesty the Queen was a great honour, and it is excellent to be able to share the official presentation of the scroll with our team.”

The presentation at the office’s annual summer party also marked two significant milestones for the company. Not only has Spencer Ogden successfully placed its 6,000th candidate but its own staff numbers have now reached 400 employees in just four years.

“We are also thrilled to be announcing these two important landmarks for our business; highlighting our own expansion and the work we are doing to help businesses across the industry. This is down to the talent of our consultants and the award is testament to the effort that they have put in.”

Spencer Ogden, which already has offices in over 12 international energy hubs, is the first recruitment consultancy to service the entire end-to-end energy sector.  The focus on all energy industries, from oil and gas to renewables and project financing to distribution, is a key driver for the businesses growth and central to its innovative approach.

Since inception, Spencer Ogden has grown from a headcount of just 25 to over 400 employees globally, and the business is on track to reach a target turnover of £75 million in 2014.

Last week Spencer Ogden also announced a major expansion of its US operations, with offices launching in San Diego, Orland and Denver.
