Smiths aerospaceís global jobs site takes off

.

Leading transatlantic aerospace equipment company Smiths Aerospace have launched a global careers and job website to help tackle their critical need to attract top engineers from Europe and North America.

The new careers site, created by Bristol-based web specialists JobPositiveô, forms part of Smiths Aerospaceís main website, and is set up to attract applications for posts in around 50 sites world-wide. It aims to recruit for positions across all sectors but with a major focus on engineering roles.

Tim Davis, Director of Internal Communications, said ìSmiths Aerospace needs to be the first choice for good people looking for opportunities in the areas that we have vacancies, and an attractive, dynamic website is an essential recruitment tool. Interested candidates can now research our company and all the business units as well as the jobs available and then apply online. We are extremely pleased.î

Would-be candidates can search for jobs via region, keywords and job sectors and submit CVís online, as well as registering for regular e-mail updates. The site also includes an ìAbout Engineeringî section, staff profiles, and details on careers within the company.

In its first two months, the site, at www.smiths-aerospace.com, has attracted over 12,000 user sessions from more than 4,000 unique users. Of these, 837 have registered, and 511 job applications have been made.

Smiths Aerospace is a division of Smiths Group which also has market leading positions in medical devices, mechanical and polymer seals and interconnect products. JobPositiveô has developed a number of other HR-related sites for Smiths Group, including an internal jobs site to support individual career development and help retain key skills among the Groupís 33,000 employees worldwide; graduate and young persons site www.whatsnext4u.com; and secure internal HR sites.
