Internet employment site SEEK Communications Ltd. (www.seek.com.au), Melbourne Australia, has acquired the Australian business of Manchester England-based e-cruiting vendor topjobs.net plc. Under the deal, which included the buy of topjobs.net''s database of registered users and advertisers, SEEK is licensing the topjobs.com.au domain and brand name, although visitors to topjobs.com.au are now redirected automatically to the SEEK Web site.
Mark Stevenson, director of operations for topjobs.net, said the deal terms are confidential at this time; however, he did confirm that the transaction was a straight cash payment, with no deferred element. Going forward, topjobs.net has no plans for further sell-offs, he said.
