Sayer Vincent recruiting largest ever intake of graduate trainee accountants to meet increased demand for its services

Sayer Vincent, the award-winning firm of charity auditors and chartered accountants, is recruiting graduate trainees for its three-year training programme that will lead them to becoming chartered accountants. Interested applicants need to apply by 1 July 2018.

This year, Sayer Vincent is increasing the number of graduate trainees it recruits to meet growing client demand for its services. It plans to hire 10 new graduates to join its 2018/19 intake, who are committed to developing their careers within the charity and social enterprise sphere.

Trainees will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, undertaking audit and advisory work, while the firm supports them training for the internationally recognised ACA qualification.

Applications are now open and there will be two selection days on 17 July and another in November, with new trainees starting on either Tuesday 4 September 2018 or in February/March 2019.

Judith Miller, Partner at Sayer Vincent said, “We are looking for bright and dedicated graduates to join our team who are passionate about working with charity and social purpose organisations and have the aptitude for gaining a professional accounting qualification. The role is both rewarding and challenging and graduates will benefit from first class training and working alongside our experienced team of auditors with their deep understanding of charity finance.”

“We are committed to taking on trainees each year and it’s one of our contributions to the not-for-profit sector, since if people choose not to stay in audit many will go into charities as qualified accountants.

“Our trainees have a great success rate in completing the ACA and after qualifying it’s common to either stay with us or move into a finance role within the not-for-profit sector or elsewhere. We look forward to meeting candidates at our upcoming selection days,” adds Ms Miller.

Malika Rezougui joined Sayer Vincent as a trainee at Sayer Vincent earlier this year. She says Sayer Vincent is a great place to work if you want high quality training whilst working and making a difference.

Malika says, “Since starting at Sayer Vincent I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients who are all passionate about the work they do. Balancing full time work and studying can be challenging, it requires dedication and good time management, but it is so rewarding when you find out you’ve passed an exam.

“We are given study leave to go to college to learn the content for our ACA exams. Everyone at the firm is very supportive, the tutors at college are really helpful and the flexible working policy makes it easier to fit in revision around client work.”

Alice Caffyn, who is now in her second year of training said, “I joined Sayer Vincent because I wanted to work for a firm dedicated to supporting clients in the not-for-profit sector. Being able to come to work every day and help our clients succeed is a real pleasure. I’ve worked with a wide variety of clients, and all are incredibly passionate about what they do.

“Since day one, I’ve taken a client-facing role and enjoyed meaningful responsibility. The biggest challenge of being a trainee is juggling study for the ACA and client work, but Sayer Vincent provides excellent support.”
