Right attitude is key for young jobseekers

Select Appointments, one of the UK’s leading recruitment franchisors, has warned young people that their attitude not qualifications is a prime factor in getting a job

Select Appointments, one of the UK’s leading recruitment franchisors, has warned young people that their attitude not qualifications is a prime factor in getting a job.

The latest statistics from REC show that 64% of employers have recruited a young person under the age of 25 years in the last year. And 47% stated that attitude is the most important factor when considering whether to hire.  Only 4% stated that academic results were the most important factor when hiring.

Graeme McKinnon, managing director of Select Appointments, comments: “These latest figures show that academic results are important in getting an interview, but attitude is key to actually landing the job. It is essential that young people show high levels of desire, commitment and positivity when going for jobs, as good qualifications can only get you so far.”

Select Appointments is a leading recruitment franchise network and is seeking ambitious individuals to join them as franchise owners with opportunities available throughout the UK.
