Research claims e-learning has a positive impact on sales

Companies consider learning on the web

Independent research recently undertaken on behalf of SkillSoft, who provide web-based learning for critical business skills ñ shows that e-learning has had a positive impact on sales within UK plc.

The research shows that sales training is one of the highest areas being considered by organisations for the implementation of e-learning - in the IT/Telecoms sector, 21% had completed implementation and in the Financial Services sector, 17%.

Respondents from the IT/Telecoms sector, where e-learning is most established, were the largest group to confirm that e-learning had a positive impact on sales (58%) compared with 47% from the Manufacturing/Retail sector and 19% from Financial Services.

Amongst those organisations already using e-learning for sales training, 58% say it has met or exceeded expectations. 36% of all organisations expect to see the use of e-learning for sales training increase over the coming year.
