Recruiters use net every day to find candidates - 05/2001

-

Polling almost 1,000 recruiters in a variety of industries, AIRS found that the vast majority of recruiters are on the Internet every day looking for candidates.

In fact: - 73 percent of recruiters source on the net every day - 17 percent turn to the net once a week - 7 percent use the net once a month - and only 3 percent do not source from the Internet. The market for great candidates is tighter than ever and recruiters wonít find them just by advertising in newspapers or searching through commercial resume banks.

ìCompanies are quickly learning that in order to succeed, they must move away from traditional recruiting methods and turn to the Internet,î says Mike Foster, CEO of AIRS. Internet sourcing is a relatively new concept for corporations and recruiters: The poll also revealed that 66 percent of recruiters have less than two years of e-recruiting experience and only 34 percent of recruiters had between two and five years of Internet expertise.
