Some of the world’s largest employers have joined the REC’s Good Recruitment Campaign with EY, River Island, Jaguar Land Rover, Johnson & Johnson, Wincanton, SAB Miller, Leeds NHS Trust and WaterAid all signing up in recent months and demonstrating their commitment to best practice recruitment.

Since the campaign launched a total of 73 organisations have signed the Good Recruitment Charter, pledging to promote diversity and inclusion, offer flexible working arrangements, provide an excellent candidate experience and lead the way to promote best recruitment practices.

REC Chief Executive Kevin Green said:

“The Good Recruitment Campaign is resonating with businesses and public sector bodies across different industries, with signatories including global brands recognising the value it can bring.

“We want to bring these organisations together to learn from each other, and ultimately to help businesses large and small get better at bringing in and keeping hold of talented people. This is vital at a time when demand for quality candidates is high and employers are struggling to find the people they need.

“By joining the campaign you are making a public commitment to good practice in recruitment. In turn, signatories are seeing the benefits of being recognised as an employer of choice.”

EY Recruiting Leader for UK & Ireland Dan Richards said:

“We are honoured to be joining the Good Recruitment Campaign. EY has always prided itself on being best in class for the attraction, selection and retention of top talent within the industry.

“EY is dedicated to building a better working world, so we are constantly looking for ways to enhance the candidate experience. We believe that being a member of this initiative will align with our future business plans for EY to be the leading global professional services organisation by 2020.”

River Island Recruitment Controller Janine Jenkinson said:

“River Island is very proud to be a part of the Good Recruitment Campaign. Our employer brand is extremely important to us, our candidates are our customers and we want them to experience the WOW factor when thinking of River Island as a future employer. Adopting the REC principles is a fundamental way of supporting our recruitment strategies that result in attracting world-class retail professionals who will help grow the business.”

The new signatories join organisations from across the private and public sectors, including Kellogg’s, Diageo, Yell, PepsiCo, McDonalds, Mercedes-Benz, Santander, First Group, Royal Mail, G4S and RWE npower. The campaign is also supported by the CIPD, The FIRM, the Institute of Leadership and Management, the Federation of Small Businesses, the Direct Employers Association, the Confederation of Business Industry, NHS Employers and ACAS.
