New PCMS recruitment tool helps graduates find the tweet smell of success

Coventry-based PCMS, a provider of retail IT services across the world, has launched an innovative new recruitment initiative to help graduates navigate the competitive job market

Coventry-based PCMS, a provider of retail IT services across the world, has launched an innovative new recruitment initiative to help graduates navigate the competitive job market. ‘Graduate Hour’ takes place on Twitter and offers tips, advice and support, as well as the chance to link with potential recruiters and employers.

The initiative is a weekly 60 minute Q&A taking place on Thursdays at 3pm giving graduates the chance to ask recruiters their burning questions and gain vital tips on writing CVs, preparing for interviews and ultimately bagging that first job.

As well as the internal HR team, PCMS is building relationships with recruiters, businesses, university careers advisors and fellow students to pose and answer questions that will provide valuable insight into the current marketplace for graduate vacancies in the UK.

The team will assist with a variety of issues, including whether a particular vacancy is going to be suitable, expectations regarding remuneration packages and what questions to ask in an interview.

Elaine Rowlands, Head of HR at PCMS, said: “Graduate Hour is a chance for graduates in the area to ask our team questions about recruitment, work life in general, and how to get that dream job.

“We all know how competitive the graduate market is but, as we see the economy begin to blossom, more companies are recruiting and Graduate Hour aims to help students stand out from the crowd. We’re on hand to offer advice and provide support from writing their CV through to going to the interview. At PCMS we’re passionate about developing the future generation, with graduate, intern and apprenticeship schemes in place at our Coventry offices, focused on IT and general management opportunities.”

#graduatehour will be taking place every Thursday at 3pm. Those who are not available can follow @graduatehour and receive some favourite tweets from the hour, or search the hashtag #graduatehour to catch up on all the conversations.

#Graduatehourcomplements other networking hours on Twitter such as #COVHOUR allowing local businesses to interact.
