Monsterís Traffic with new MSN Careers Channel Soars in January

Media Metrix Confirms Monsterís Leadership Position in Career Category

Monster.com announced today that its leading career content and job search capabilities has gone live and has achieved strong traffic on MSN, the most popular destination on the Web and part of the MSN network of Internet services. Monster and MSN recently announced their relationship, whereby MSN and Monster will combine their tools, resources and technological expertise at www.careers.msn.com, where millions of MSN users in the United States will benefit from the career knowledge and services of Monster, including resume building, interview techniques and job search resources.

Traffic to MSN Careers Channel, to visit Monsterís career content and job search capabilities, has soared since the beginning of January, boosting traffic to Monster and further cementing its leadership position. From January 1st to January 22nd, 5,409,437 job searches have been conducted from MSN, with a peak of 635,913 job searches during the 24-hour period on January 2nd.

According to traffic figures released by Media Metrix, Monster is number one in the career category, as the measurement of category leadership is defined by the inclusion of properties, media titles, channels, and sub-channels. Media Metrix has confirmed Monsterís announcement as the leader of the category with the recent December traffic numbers. In December, Monster was the number one destination for career seekers and the 39th most visited property overall on the Internet. Monster maintained its stronghold with an average of 27.7 pages viewed per user and a power ranking of 229.9, more than four times that of its closest competitorís power ranking of 49.7. Monthly unique visitors to Monster increased from 3.9 million during December 2000 to 8.9 million for December 2001, an increase of 128 percent.
