Language switching & clients; Two very good reasons why 3DMarComms is expanding into Wales

2014 is looking like a big year for 3DMarComms, creators of HARBOUR Applicant Tracking System (ATS)

2014 is looking like a big year for 3DMarComms, creators of HARBOUR Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Not only does their client base continue to grow (recent wins including Harris + Hoole, Priory Group and New Look), but there’s a particular surge of interest in their products and services in Wales – part of which is down to the hot topic of language switching.

If you’re a public sector organisation in Wales then language switching is very much on your radar. Legislation is already in place in the form of The Welsh Language Act 1993 and the Government of Wales Act 1998 which states that the Welsh and English languages be treated equally in the public sector.

3DMarComms already has a close personal connection with Wales (their Managing Director is Welsh himself) and a number of key clients there. And it was with one such client, Ceredigion County Council (http://Ceredigion.3dmarcomms.com), that they looked to evolve the HARBOUR ATS to make sure they were doing their bit to help the Council to act in accordance with legislation across the whole recruitment piece.

And what does this new language functionality look like? As the name implies, it allows candidates to switch from English to Welsh and back again, or vice versa, so that they can read the adverts and fill out their online applications in whichever language allows them to show off their skills in the best light. As a result it’s meant that HARBOUR ATS has branched out to include a new piece of language compliant functionality that would not only help other clients, but it also adds real value to their candidates as they still get the seamless candidate-focussed experience that HARBOUR ATS has become known for.

Alex Hens, Managing Director of 3DMarComms, is excited not only by the opportunities this functionality brings, (and which has also been deployed in North America and China for other clients), but by the move itself. “We’re thrilled to have opened an office in Cardiff. For a while we’ve wanted to be closer to our growing client base in Wales and the South West and this gives us the perfect chance to build even closer relationships.  And with language switching on everyone’s lips, we’re just happy we’ve got a slick, professional solution that makes candidates and clients both happy. We even have welsh-speakers on our team to make certain we really do know what we’re talking about.”
