KDR Recruitment expands as ‘gold rush’ for data professionals continues

KDR Recruitment, a specialist recruiter of information management professionals, is expanding following a series of recent large account wins

KDR Recruitment, a specialist recruiter of information management professionals, is expanding following a series of recent large account wins.

KDR, which has just entered its 10th year, is appointing three new consultants to manage the additional business. A year ago KDR was a team of seven, and that will rise to 13 in early 2013.

The recruiter is moving to larger premises to better meet the needs of its expansion. It will leave its existing home at Booths Park, Cheshire on 1 February 2013. Its new base on Tatton Street, in the heart of Knutsford, is more than double the size of its current space.

Rob Hemsley is the first consultant to be appointed. He will take on the role of account manager with responsibility for driving the contract recruitment side of the business. Rob joins KDR with 10 years of recruitment experience, mainly from working in the energy, aerospace and defence sectors with a focus on IT and engineering recruitment, both permanent and contract. His previous position was with Quest Energy Resources where he was a senior consultant.

Among the big-name businesses that KDR has recently signed terms with are a major technology company, a global manufacturing brand and a Lloyds market insurer. They join several existing household name clients including Friends Life, Nationwide Building Society and Unilever.

MD Mark Dexter said: “This has been a cracking start to the year. We’ve had a flurry of new briefs over the last few months and they keep on coming as businesses try to make sense of their data and recognise the opportunities that it can bring.

“Despite the high unemployment rate there continues to be a global talent shortage that is affecting highly specialised roles immensely. There’s no doubt that there is a gold rush for talented information management people at the moment.

“I believe the secret of our success has been carving out a niche and becoming one of a few devoted specialists in what is a booming business. It is also down to us having great data ourselves with a refined pool of highly-skilled candidates who we have established strong relationships with.”

KDR places permanent, contract and interim candidates in information management, business intelligence and data warehousing roles. For more information visit kdrrecruitment.com/
