The world’s leading job marketplace, with unique job matching technology and new staff management services, accelerates global expansion with major international funding round.

  • Niall Wass, former SVP International of Uber and Executive in Residence at Atomico, joins the Board as a Non Executive Director
  • Global marketplace and recruitment experts also join as advisors and invest alongside Atomico

Jobandtalent, the world’s leading job marketplace, which matches SMEs with local talent and offers staff management services, has completed a $42 million Series B round. Led by Atomico, the global technology venture capital firm set up by Skype founder Niklas Zennström, this round builds on the Series A funding raised last year.

Jobandtalent, which aims to revolutionise the traditional online and offline methods of finding jobs and hiring candidates within SMEs, will use this funding to accelerate its expansion into new territories, bolster its presence in existing markets, reinforce its leadership team and further develop its product and engineering team.

Former Senior Vice President EMEA & APAC at Uber, and current Executive-in-Residence at Atomico, Niall Wass, will join the Jobandtalent Board as Non Executive Director to help with overall strategy and international growth. Additional investors and advisors from Silicon Valley include FJ Labs (José Marín, founder of DeRemate.com, and Fabrice Grinda, founder of OLX.com); Adeyemi Ajao, founder of Identified and currently VP Technology Strategy at Workday; and Steve Goodman, founder of Bright.com, sold to LinkedIn in 2014.

Niklas Zennström, founding partner and CEO of Atomico, said: “Well over a billion workers now have cell phones which means the recruitment sector is ripe for mobile disruption. It was clear to us that Jobandtalent was best positioned to revolutionise this market. Their execution capability, leading matching technology and transactional marketplace approach, will make them scale faster than anyone else. We were extremely impressed with the Jobandtalent founding team and are excited to join them on their mission to reduce unemployment and hiring inefficiencies around the world.”

Jobandtalent has recently begun offering a comprehensive staff management service that will forever change the way SMEs recruit. The service dramatically reduces the administrative and HR burden of hiring, onboarding and managing staff, by generating employment contracts, managing payroll and dealing with all payments to local tax authorities. In addition, with automatic background checks combined with ratings and reviews from previous employers, businesses will be in a position to offer a job without even needing to interview the candidate.

Juan Urdiales, Co-Founder of Jobandtalent said: “Not only do we have proven job matching technology but we also provide an end-to-end service that helps reduce the bureaucratic and administrative burdens of hiring talent. We are ready to scale our platform internationally, and with Atomico we now have the additional investment and expertise to make that happen. They are a perfect fit with their hands-on approach and track record of building global category winners.”

“When it comes to marketplaces, liquidity is key. And in just a few months of launching in the UK, Jobandtalent has become the most liquid mobile marketplace, providing more jobs per month than any other competitor.”

Today Jobandtalent operates in five cities (Madrid, Barcelona, Mexico City, Bogota and London) and the company has already recruited top talent from global technology success stories such as Amazon, iZettle, Skype, and Spotify. Beatriz del Pozo, from the on-demand car service Cabify, who has been a Jobandtalent business customer for three months, added: “Jobandtalent is the perfect tool to fulfil all our challenging recruitment needs in a very fast and efficient way. The ease of their product and quality of the candidates has reduced our time to hire from weeks to days. It’s been transformative for us.”
