Investing in people is key to protecting the recruitment industry’s reputation

Industry experts debate how best to motivate internal staff, hire for success, and foster an environment of equality and respect at Engage London, Europe’s largest recruitment conference

Bullhorn, the cloud computing company that helps staffing and recruiting organisations transform their businesses, hosts its seventh annual international recruitment conference today at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel.

Engage London has become one of the top events for recruiters throughout Europe. Attendees will hear from 50 speakers, including keynote speaker Baroness Karren Brady CBE, who discusses the importance of creating a sustainable world-class culture conducive to employee success, and a general session from Dr. Marcia Goddard, famed neuroscientist and recruitment expert, who discusses the science of stress and cultivating recruitment resilience.

Other standout sessions include a panel on the state of the recruitment industry’s reputation featuring Ann Swain of APSCo, James Osborne of The Recruitment Network, and Geraldine King of the National Recruitment Federation; and a presentation on leveraging older workers as a burgeoning talent source by international lawyer and Stanford Distinguished Careers Institute partner fellow, Julia Randell-Khan.

All topics cover three main tracks:

  • People focusses on interpersonal dynamics, talent access and engagement, employee motivation, and the intricacies of customer relationships.
  • Platform focusses on effective tools for powering one’s recruitment business.
  • Productivity focusses on using technology to achieve maximal results with minimal investment.

Back by popular demand, finalists from Bullhorn’s Innovation Week bring their most creative and inventive product enhancements to life in front of a live audience during the Innovation Throwdown session.

Stand-up comedian Jake Lambert, who made it to the final of the Amused Moose Awards at the Edinburgh Fringe, officially closes the conference before attendees head over to the Official Engage London after-party.

Peter Linas, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and International at Bullhorn said:

“Engage London is the perfect opportunity for those in the industry to network, brainstorm, and plan for the future. The industry is experiencing significant change and uncertainty as Brexit looms, and concerns rise over skills shortages and global mobility. It’s thus a great time to come together to discuss how we’re going to tackle these challenges as an industry and embrace the opportunities afforded to us to ensure that recruiters are prepared for all eventualities.

“While technology continues to revolutionise the recruitment industry, people are still at the heart of what we do, which is why we’ve made sure to keep ‘The Power of People’ as our central theme. We also understand that with recruitment firms looking to run their businesses with maximum productivity and profitability, sessions on how best to utilise technology to unify the entire agency will prove invaluable.”
