Brampton Recruitment gives students CV writing and interview tips

Staffordshire and Cheshire-based recruitment agency, Brampton Recruitment has helped inspire local students to build on their CV writing skills at a recent careers fair, held at The Co-operative Academy of Stoke-on-Trent. The fair, which was held on March 23, 2017 was organised by the Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce to help high school students become more aware of the career opportunities available to them once they finish their education.

At the careers fair, senior recruitment consultant, Vikki Cave and recruitment resourcer, Karen Jones gave advice on the typical words and phrases that job candidates can include in their CV to help attract employers. The two consultants explained how a CV should be structured to get the most attention from employers and also supplied hand-outs to assist pupils when writing their CVs.

"At Brampton Recruitment, we believe that students should begin thinking about their career from when they join secondary school," explained Vikki Cave, senior recruitment consultant at Brampton Recruitment. "Most students choose the subjects that they would like to study at GCSE level at aged 13. These choices can have a significant impact on the careers they go into later in life and both student and parent need to realise the importance of this decision.

"Whether these students choose to go on to further education, partake in an apprenticeship or enter the workplace after secondary education, equipping students with CV writing and interview skills should be considered as important as other core subjects, such as English, Maths and Science.”
