Inspira Announces Establishment of “Generational Advisory Committees” to Address Changing Needs of Patients & Employees

Members of Millennial Generation to pioneer new engagement and outreach program

Inspira Health Network, a leader in patient quality, excellence and experience, today announced the creation of “Generational Advisory Committees,” groups of 15-20 women and men from specific age brackets that will meet in an effort to better understand, engage and serve the unique needs of its patients and employees. As the health network continues to expand and grow across the region, these Committees will be responsible for discussing current market trends and sharing their insights and making recommendations to the executive leadership. Complementing the recently announced Inspira Innovation Center, this feedback will enhance engagement, services and patient experience in a highly-dynamic healthcare environment.

The first Committee to launch this Fall will be the Millennial Advisory Committee (MAC) and will focus primarily on issues concerning those born between the early 1980s and the early 2000s, an era cited by Pew Research as the “largest living” generation. Other Committees for Seniors, Baby Boomers, Generation X and Generation Z are planned to launch in the coming months.

“We understand that providing superior quality of care means being receptive to the evolving needs of our diverse patient population and these Committees will provide us with a crucial method of gathering feedback and insight from each generation we serve,” said John DiAngelo, president and CEO of Inspira Health Network. “Healthcare is not a one-size-fits-all model, and we have to stay on the pulse of generational needs so we’re able to enhance our products, operations and service lines. At Inspira, we have the best employees and technology in the region, but we also understand there is much to be learned by listening.”

Members of each Committee will gather quarterly to discuss their perspectives and review research into current/future healthcare concerns and opportunities impacting their age range. Initially launched with Inspira employees, the Committees will expand over time to include external community and other members to ensure various perspectives are represented. From there, each Committee will engage with Inspira leadership to determine how patient experience, care, and innovation is perceived from the respective demographics.

“In the 11 months I have been with Inspira, I have devoted both my personal and professional time to become more involved within the Inspira Network,” said Committee member GinaMarie Martinez, Access Center Representative at Inspira Health Network. “As a member of this Committee, I hope to network, learn, listen, engage, and promote an ‘inspired’ healthcare system. I look forward to brainstorming and being open-minded to what other members think and how we can contribute our ideas to the Inspira community.”

Millennials, arguably the most-discussed generation, are coming into adulthood, buying homes and establishing themselves as the future leaders of South Jersey. With the launch of MAC, Inspira has opted to create an inclusive environment, gathering women and men from this demographic to hear their opinions.

Input from each Committee will also be an invaluable benefit to the broad network of partnerships Inspira has developed with organizations across South Jersey working to bring about positive change to the region. From supporting efforts to make healthy foods more available and affordable, to helping reduce the supply of opioids in the state, to the construction of a new state-of-the-art medical center in Mullica Hill, Inspira is committed to improving the lives of each community it serves.
