Innovate UK backs Hiring Hub with £100K R&D grant

Hiring Hub has secured a £100,000 grant from the UK’s innovation agency, Innovate UK, to part-fund its development of an intelligent, cloud-based recruitment system designed to help SMEs easily source and manage third-party recruitment suppliers, and their end-to-end recruitment process

Hiring Hub has secured a £100,000 grant from the UK’s innovation agency, Innovate UK, to part-fund its development of an intelligent, cloud-based recruitment system designed to help SMEs easily source and manage third-party recruitment suppliers, and their end-to-end recruitment process.

The grant, obtained through Innovate UK’s SMART scheme, a highly competitive programme that funds innovative companies looking to engage in R&D projects in the strategically important areas of science, engineering and technology, will part-fund Hiring Hub’s development of a prototype online platform to give SMEs in the UK enterprise-level recruitment software at low cost.

Simon Swan, co-Founder and CEO of Hiring Hub, said: “The grant throws additional fuel on our plans to create a truly market-leading, intelligent online recruitment platform utilising the very latest technology to transform how companies in the UK find and hire experienced candidates, while greatly accelerating their recruitment process and dramatically cutting the amount of paper-shuffling and administration normally associated with hiring.”

The SMART funding from Innovate UK comes as Hiring Hub – which celebrated its fifth birthday at the beginning of November by announcing 40% year-on year growth – goes from strength to strength. “We’ve doubled our headcount in 2015 and are currently in the process of knocking through into an adjacent office to keep pace with growth and accommodate a burgeoning team,” added Swan.

Formerly called the Technology Strategy Board, Innovate UK is an executive, non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills. It works with companies to find and drive the technology innovations that will grow the UK economy and has invested over £1.5 billion to help more than 5,000 companies in projects estimated to add £7.5 billion to the UK economy and create 35,000 extra new jobs.
