HotLizard addresses Web Site Compliance issues

with cost-effective technical solutions

HotLizard has just completed a strategic review of the new code of practice called the Employment Data Protection Code has been drawn up to specifically address data protection issues in the recruitment industry. If you have not had access to this documentation, the full details can be found at www.dataprotection.gov.uk/employcop.htm. In addition to a number of guidelines to the handling of data within recruitment agencies, there are specific issues that recruitment web sites should now conform with.

The three specific items that it draws attention to are the security of online applications, information to candidates on how their application details will be used and the control of how candidate applications are stored and accessed.

HotLizard has done research into the impact of this code of practice on the development of recruitment web sites and recognised that many recruitment companies will require some changes to ensure that they comply with the code. In order to make it as cost effective as possible for our clients, HotLizard has developed a range of components that can be implemented on recruitment web sites to address the compliance issues. The components have a one-off charge, which means that there is no ongoing commitment to increased support and maintenance charges and they can be swiftly implemented to integrate with your existing site or a new site can be developed to incorporate the secure components.

HotLizard has also recognised that most companies wonít have budgeted for changes to their site and are therefore being sympathetic in offering a 20% discount on companies on the components until 31st October 2002.
