Available on prospects.ac.uk, this recently launched new service lists hundreds of positions in every region of the country, ranging from shop, pub and bar work to club promoting, waiting and call-centre positions. Employers include Marks & Spencer, Slug & Lettuce, Bar Med, WHSmith, William Hill, Tie Rack, Burger King, Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures.
Run by CSU, the Higher Education Careers Services Unit, prospects.ac.uk already has comprehensive databases of full-time graduate vacancies and postgraduate opportunities, while CSUís work-experience.org site lists traditional forms of work experience.
The job vacancies can be searched online by the type of work required, region or specific location and the number of hours the applicant wants to work. Depending on the employer, applications can be made online or details are given of how and where to apply.
