Funding leads to job creation for Birmingham based back office accountancy partner

Birmingham based Ezy Solutions Group has been awarded grant funding from the Business Growth Programme and, as a result, will be creating five new jobs within the community.

The funding, which is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and managed by Birmingham City Council, is awarded to businesses who obtain a successful growth rate and will generate more jobs as a result of the additional support.

Ezy will be using the funding to invest in new software, which will help to monitor customers’ experiences with its services. The software will also be used as a central hub for the entire Ezy group which, in return, allows the business to be much more scalable and respond more quickly and efficiently to its customers’ needs.

Alex Sutherland, Director at Ezy Solutions Group, commented on the funding:

“We have seen an increase of over 50% in our staff over the past 12 months and we need our systems to keep up with this growth. Winning the funding means we can ensure our systems are always one step ahead and allows us to tailor our software which, in turn, will have an exciting and extremely positive impact on not only our further business growth but also our overall service levels and efficiency.”

On the application process, Laura Cotton – Office Manager at Ezy – commented:

“It was refreshing to have such a simple and smooth application process. We were able to complete the paperwork in a short amount of time thanks to the help we received from the team at the Business Growth Programme. We’re excited to benefit from their continued support and even more excited to see how the grant will aid Ezy’s growth.”

Ezy is based in Aston, Birmingham, and offers outsourced payroll, workforce management and accountancy services to the temporary recruitment sector. Started in 2015, It currently employs 25 members of staff and is headed up by Directors Kevin Sharkey & Alex Sutherland.

The news of Ezy’s success was commended by Councillor O’Reilly, Cabinet Member for Jobs & Skills at Birmingham City Council:

“Ezy Solutions Group has been very shrewd in utilising this grant funding to speed up growth in the company.  The new technology that has been introduced will help the company to keep pace with the increase in staffing levels, and also lead to improvements in the customer journey.

The Business Growth Programme is still open for business, and I would urge SMEs across the GBSLEP, Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire and The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership areas to take advantage of this European funded programme, whilst they still can”.
