Eversheds Partners With Elevation To Deliver Employment Law Workshop

Event Advises Business Owners On Changes In Legislation

Law firm Eversheds joined forces with leading recruitment consultants Elevation to host an employment law workshop for business leaders from across the region last week.

More than 50 HR directors and business owners in the manufacturing and professional service sectors attended the free event at Eversheds’ Leeds office, where lawyers from the Eversheds employment law team presented an overview of the latest changes to employment law legislation as well as significant case law developments.

Speakers addressed key issues including changes to the Employment Tribunal process, TUPE, flexible working, the calculation of holiday pay and collective consultation.

Rob Smedley, a Senior Associate at Eversheds said: “The event was very well attended, which is a good indication of the importance that HR teams and business leaders are placing on keeping right up to date with employment law issues in this day and age.

“There have been significant legislative changes and other developments in the last couple of years with more to come this year and next, and so it is increasingly important that those who are responsible for ensuring their organisation is compliant are well informed.”

Michelle Fergusson, a business manager in Elevation’s HR division said: “These workshops provide an ideal platform for businesses leaders to understand all of the latest employment law changes, as well as take the opportunity to ask questions and network with other professionals working in similar sectors across the region.”
