Erecruitment.com Goes Live - 09/2000

Patent Applied For

Claiming to be so unique that a patent is required, erecruitment has gone live. Using a distinctive matching system, erecruitment intends to offer a fully service pure play system to directly compete with traditional agencies. The site is not a traditional job bulletin board, it does not advertise jobs and has a strict, no agency policy. Through an in house developed system, erecruitment.com carries out the entire recruitment process on line to create a short list of candidates. Candidates will only be notified once a match has taken place and may then, via the system, arrange interviews. It will not be possible for candidates and employers to browse job specifications and CVs.

Erecruitment.com is initially launching to the graduate and IT job market with plans to roll out to all other industries by the end of 2000. To date, more than 50 companies, including PA Consulting, Psion, Colt Telecom, Novell and Lucent Technologies, have signed up to post their vacancies on the site. Speaking at the launch, erecruitment.com chief executive Glenn Smith, said, ìThis is one of the most exciting developments in the UKís recruitment industry, representing a brand new way of doing recruitmentî.
