Enterprise Rent-A-Car eyes more than 250 new UK graduates in 2016 recruitment drive

Jobs available nationwide, from Penzance to Perthshire

Enterprise Rent-A-Car, part of the world’s largest car rental group, has announced that it has more than 250 vacancies available today for graduates on its renowned Management Trainee Programme.

With positions vacant across England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, the company’s latest recruitment initiative is being driven by another year of sustained growth across its car hire and car club services.

Last year, Enterprise Rent-A-Car hired more than 1,000 graduates from 100 universities, across a range of degree subjects and results.

During their time as management trainees, graduates are given extensive training opportunities across a wide range of business elements, including management skills, business management, marketing, sales, customer service and fleet control.

As an organisation that prides itself on promoting from within, opportunities for progression are on offer from just eight months with graduates able to become an assistant branch manager in less than two years. From this point onwards employees receive a percentage of the profits generated by their branch, meaning that their hard work directly benefits their salary.

Furthermore, with openings available across the country, Enterprise Rent-A-Car is one of the few graduate employers that does not require graduates to relocate, which is something that has proved particularly helpful for those that would rather live closer to their families for personal or cultural reasons.

Natalie Staines, who started her career as a management trainee for Enterprise Rent-A-Car and now works as a regional sales manager for sister company City Car Club, said: “I loved that from the beginning I was a decision-maker. I was never treated any differently as a trainee.”

While area manager Lizzy Scholey added: “I was told that career progression within Enterprise is promising. What I didn’t realise is how quickly I would progress. Within 11 months I was promoted to assistant manager of the Milton Keynes branch and then I was promoted to a branch manager after only a year and a half.”

Ashley Hever, talent acquisition manager for UK & Ireland at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, said, “We recruit graduates for real positions within our branches, which offer structured on-the-job training and the opportunity for rapid promotion based on very clear criteria including customer service. We are growing quickly, having acquired City Car Club and Burnt Tree, a commercial vehicle business, in the last 18 months. This means our demand for graduates is also likely to increase.”

Hever continued: “Our current CEO, Pam Nicholson, joined Enterprise as a management trainee herself, which is proof that this is a role that can really take you as far as you want to go. We are very focused on ensuring our recruitment is as inclusive as possible, and we actively monitor our intake in terms of diversity and social inclusion.”
