EMIRATES LAUNCHES NEW CAREERS WEBSITE

.

Emirates, the Dubai based international airline, has launched the web based Emirates Group Careers Centre www.emiratesgroupcareers.com to help it to continue to attract top quality employees from the UK and around the world in its drive to double its workforce by the end of the decade.

The Emirates Group expects to have more than 35,000 employees by 2010 as it increases its fleet of 39 aircraft to 100-plus. Expansion however is already under way in its Airport Services, Cargo, IT, Tourism and Hospitality businesses.

The launch of this new web site also coincides with an extensive recruitment drive for cabin crew world-wide, and which Emirates will be seeking several hundred from the UK.

The website has been designed to communicate to job seekers the values of people, service and innovation behind the award winning company. In addition to comprehensive details on Emirates, it features a vacancies job board, details of career options and employee benefits, plus information on Dubai itself.

Particularly important on the new site is a built in e-Communication functionality to ensure two-way contact with people considering careers with the Group. Emirates received over 100,000 applications last year, so the new site is vital in being able to handle communications efficiently. Emirates has also developed an On-line Joining system so more recruits can complete ''paperwork'' electronically, a key move to improve speed and service for applicants from overseas.

Established in 1985, Emirates Airline has a fleet of 39 aircraft serving 58 cities in 41 countries and has won more than 200 international awards. It has recently launched new services to Casablanca and Khartoum, with Mauritius, Perth and Osaka joining its network later this summer.
