Elite recruitment with Fresh Minds - 03/2001

Top ten universities selected

Fresh Minds, launched in August 2000, provides an alternative solution to skills shortages. Their bank of 'Minds', a selection of the most talented students in the country, is allocated short-term business projects outsourced from major UK companies.

Fresh Minds only actively recruits from the UKs top 10 universities and specifies that Minds should have achieved, or should be expecting to achieve, an upper second (2:1) or first (1st) class honours degree. They currently have a bank of over 100 Minds who have all been selected for their outstanding abilities, both academic and extra-curricular.

Students are screened, interviewed and rated before being added to the Mind database. Minds are then categorised according to their skills and the degree being read. They are carefully matched to the specific tasks and Fresh Minds takes responsibility for project management and quality control. A company wanting petrochemical research, for example, will be assigned a Chemistry Mind and an organisation needing translation will be provided with a Language Mind.

Students are currently a largely untapped resource for businesses with short-term staffing needs. By employing only the best, we can guarantee quality to our clients, whilst allowing them early access to the capabilities of the very same students who they spend thousands of pounds trying to recruit through the milk round a couple of years down the line.
