DHL joins national scheme, Movement to Work

DHL, the UK’s leading logistics provider, has today announced that is has signed up to Movement to Work, creating 430 traineeships for young people aged 18 to 24 in 2015

DHL, the UK’s leading logistics provider, has today announced that is has signed up to Movement to Work, creating 430 traineeships for young people aged 18 to 24 in 2015.

The successful applicants will embark on a structured six-week programme incorporating work experience and classroom learning in core logistics employment areas including warehousing and storage, customer service and support services.

Following completion of the traineeship, 215 candidates from Movement to Work will have the opportunity to join DHL’s apprenticeship scheme to further develop their skills for a career in logistics.

Nikki Craig, SVP, Human Resources at DHL said: “With 764,000[1] young people not in education, employment or training it is essential that businesses play their part in supporting the next generation of their workforce. By joining Movement to Work, DHL is demonstrating our commitment to showing young people how varied a career in logistics can be. We’ve developed a diverse training course incorporating on the-job-experience, helping them to develop the skills and confidence to find a permanent job.”
