de Poel and Placeability Partner with the Disability Employment Conference

de Poel and Placeability partnered with the UK’s first Disability Employment Conference in London

de Poel and Placeability partnered with the UK’s first Disability Employment Conference in London. The conference was hosted by Esther McVey, the Minister for Disabled People, and Frank Gardner, OBE.  It included a speech by Prime Minister David Cameron, in which he thanked de Poel for its partnership.

The conference marks the start of a two year Government campaign to identify and tackle the challenges facing disabled workers across the UK, and make businesses more disabled confident. It was attended by 500 invitation-only delegates.

Alongside some of the UK’s largest employers, Placeability exhibited at the event, showcasing its offerings as a specialist in securing temporary and permanent employment for disabled people.  As a recruitment business specialising in helping disabled workers, the Placeability stand was inundated with delegates interested in its unique offering.

de Poel and Placeability are proud to be leading the charge to make businesses more disabled confident. Placeability was founded in 2010, under the ethos of educating and enabling employers to realise the benefits of having a diverse workforce and bringing more equality to the UK market place.

Matthew Sanders, CEO and Founder of de Poel and Placeability comments: “There are huge benefits to creating a diverse workforce.  Disabled workers are often more productive and more reliable than other workers, because they have developed resilience and problem solving skills that can be transferred to the workplace; it is also Placeability’s experience that disabled workers tend to stay with employers for longer periods.”

“Ultimately being an inclusive and disabled confident employer doesn’t just tick a CSR box – it makes business sense. We are dedicated to expanding our offering to give disabled people in the UK the support they deserve; and businesses the education and guidance they need to make them more disabled confident.”
