CV-Library founder supports the Orphans for Orphans foundation this Christmas

CV-Library’s founder and managing director, Lee Biggins, spent Christmas supporting the Orphans for Orphans foundation in Sri Lanka, where he joined Gandy’s founders, Rob and Paul Forkan, at a ceremony in the local children’s home.

Rob Forkan was CV-Library’s first ever employee back in 2005, and has gone on to embark on his own business journey, with his brother Paul. Gandy’s, a lifestyle brand for travellers of the World, was set up by Rob and Paul following the loss of their parents in the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami, with the brothers donating 10% of their profits to helping underprivileged children that are affected by the Tsunami.

Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of CV-Library, comments: “Rob and I go back years and he has played an important part of our journey here at CV-Library. We’ve worked extremely closely over the years and I’m proud of how far he and Paul have come as they continue to travel the world and build their brand. I was particularly keen to join them on this trip as I know Sri Lanka will always hold a special place in their hearts and I admire Rob and Paul’s selflessness, especially at this time of year.”

The Orphans for Orphans children’s home in Sri Lanka accommodates children and members of the community, encompassing a broad range of focus areas - including academic support, woodwork lessons and various sports activities. This facility supports youth development in the community, ensures that children are safely occupied in after school lessons and gives parents the chance to learn English and Maths.

Alongside this, the selfless duo at Gandy’s also decided to shut their retail stores across the UK this Boxing Day, one of the busiest days of the year for retail brands. This decision was made to give back to staff and allow them to spend the day with their families.

Rob Forkan, founder of Gandy’s adds: “I spent the best part of my early career at CV-Library and Lee has been an incredible mentor for me as I’ve started my own business and built our brand. I really appreciate the time and effort he took to join us in Sri Lanka this Boxing Day, spending time with the children at our kids’ campus. Giving back is something that is really important to me and Paul: whether that’s supporting the children in Sri Lanka, or allowing our staff an extra day off at Christmas.”
