Consumers need convincing on digital TV - 10/2001

.

Seventy-two percent of US consumers polled by Statistical Research said they were not interested in using interactive TV services.

The proportion of those uninterested in interactive TV service was almost the same in households that already have the services, and those that donít.

Most of the households with interactive TV access said they rarely or never use TV-based Internet access or email, nor do they use interactive links in television shows.

Households with interactive TV programme guides do tend to use them, however. Almost two-thirds said they use the guides more often now than when they first got them.
