Ceremony for excellence in online recruitment - 06/2001

Entries flood in from IRNA website

The Internet Recruitersí Network and Association (IRNA), the discussion forum for online recruitment specialists, will hold its inaugural ceremony for excellence in online recruitment at the prestigious Dorchester Hotel on the 18th September 2001.

IRNA members, which include Barclays Bank, the BBC, Compaq, Unilever, British American Tobacco, British Airways, Churchill, Deutsche and Reuters, will attend the black tie dinner to celebrate those organisations which have excelled in the development of their online recruitment strategies.

IRNA will present the definitive award for the best recruitment website, and the entries will be judged on the basis of web design, functionality, usability and the overall experience. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the remaining award categories including Best Recruitment Job Board, Most Innovative Recruitment website, Best Usability and Use of Functionality and Most Informative Content.

The distinguished judges are all industry leaders. Hugh Fordham is currently responsible for marketing and service delivery at World Careers Network (WCN). The managing director of 4mat.com, Giles Guest, consults on online recruitment solutions. Charles Hardy is European Internet Recruitment Leader for IBM and responsible for all aspects of recruitment using Internet technology.

Entries are flooding in from the www.irna-uk.com website from all industry areas. A shortlist of the nominated websites will be published in August with the overall winners being announced at the award ceremony.

IRNA chairman Ben Fletcher comments ìThe industry interest that the awards have generated illustrates how enthusiastic recruitment professionals are to establish quality standards in Internet recruitment.î

The winner of Best Recruitment website will receive an IRNA award certificate, and the winners of Most Innovative Recruitment website, Best Usability and Use of Functionality and Most Informative Content will each receive 12 months free membership of IRNA, worth 2500. IRNA membership allows human resource professionals to benefit from the experience of industry practitioners through workshops, the IRNA journal, presentations and discussions, and to benchmark their recruitment practices against those of their contemporaries.
