Associated New Media and Fish4 join forces

to develop Europeís largest online classified advertising network

Associated New Media and Fish4 have joined leading newspaper publishers from Germany, Finland, Norway, The Netherlands and Belgium to establish an alliance that will give classified advertisers a unique opportunity to access local markets on a pan-European basis.

The partnership, branded the Adexalliance, is made up of market leading property, recruitment and motoring classified advertising websites in each country.

ìOur collective vision is to create a network linking the online classified services of Europeís leading newspaper groups. The Adexalliance partners are already working to share knowledge, market information and technology. We are also developing a co-ordinated approach to advertising sales,î said Fish4 CEO Jonathan Turpin.

ìWe are looking to include other key newspaper classified players across the rest of Europe. Adexalliance gives its members the opportunity to develop broader opportunities for advertisers,î continued Turpin.

Through the Adexalliance network, advertisers will have access to a wider audience. All seven members of Adexalliance are owned by regional newspaper publishers. Between them they publish over 900 newspapers that reach in excess of 70 million readers across Europe.

ìMore and more businesses wish to buy advertising across Europe from one single buying point. The Adexalliance will enable them to advertise across a network of well established local websites, through one point of contact,î said Associated New Media managing director, James Serjeant.

ìFuture plans for the alliance members include online and offline media packages with targeted and cost effective audience reach capabilities. Digital media innovation will be shared with the alliance members, while preserving the local knowledge and relationships that are the bedrock of the regional newspaper publishing groups,î continued Serjeant.

Established online brands like Associated New Media and Fish4 now have the potential to draw more users and attract more advertisers through the international platform of Adexalliance.
