Ambitious graduates kickstart their journey to be leading marketeers

Recruitment programme boosts BGL’s succession planning with eight new hires

Eight driven, determined graduates have started their career journey with the BGL Group thanks to a thriving recruitment programme.

More than 300 graduates applied for the 18 month long specialist marketing programme and the successful eight will get the opportunity to experience working with brands like comparethemarket.com and Beagle Street as well as BGL’s European brands hoyhoy.nl and LesFurets.com.

Meg Harrington, Lauren Moir, Rebecca Carter, Soffia Bowring, Alexander Ioannou, Katie Humphries, Ellie Purvis and Helen Saul were all selected for their can-do attitude and desire to develop their skills in a fast-paced working environment.

Shelley Simone, who is responsible for ensuring BGL continues to attract top quality employees and future leaders, said: “Our marketing expertise is critical to the growth of our brands and is a key driver of our future business success, so developing exceptional new talent is vital to BGL. I welcome the new graduates and look forward to seeing each of them flourish in their roles.”

Meg, who applied after seeing the programme promoted by BGL on social networking website LinkedIn, said: “I have already realised what a strong part BGL’s culture and values play in the day to day running of the business. I look forward to the various challenges my placements in each of the brands like comparethemarket.com will bring, but also to building relationships with my new colleagues and throwing myself into all of the fun CSR activities offered by the company. Everyone that I have come into contact with here is very friendly and nothing is too much trouble.”

Ellie added: “I wanted a programme that would challenge me and BGL’s definitely ticks this box. I have only been here for a short time but it is clear how integral the employees are to the company. I am really enjoying working in such a dynamic, friendly atmosphere.”

The eight will be based in Peterborough.
