Alliance helps organisations make the most out of their training spend

SHL and SkillSoft combine expertise to offer tailored, online, development programmes

SHL, a provider of HR services and SkillSoft (UK) Ltd, the provider of e-learning solutions, has announced a strategic alliance that will effectively address individual training needs online and reduce the cost and time of staff development.

The alliance utilises SHLís competency and measurement expertise to identify the strengths and skills gaps of individual employees against their roleís required competencies. Employees can complete the online assessment without the restriction of time, outside courses or location. A report then identifies strengths and areas for development, and aligns these development needs with SkillSoft courses, which are also available online.

Apparently, for organisations with multiple sites, the SHL/SkillSoft alliance provides the opportunity to deliver standardised processes across offices and borders. It is time efficient, targeted against individual and organisation needs, cost effective and objective in its measurement.

In a study conducted by European research firm, Taylor Nelson Sofres, with senior HR and Training Executives in both the public and private sector, over half stated that implementing e-learning has had a positive impact on staff efficiency. In addition: 46% experienced a positive change in the quality of critical business processes, 20% cited an improvement in employee retention and, 20% recognised a positive effect on revenues and sales as a result of e-learning.
